Taptap, by Elroy Andreassen

A long time ago, King Elroy of the Danes built a kingdom at the edge of the sea. Every day ships arrived at the port to trade fresh produce and furniture. Taptap could feel the hunger for power every time the king announced a new law, or important news.

The new kingdom was running smoothly when two robberies happened. The first robbery happened just before the grand opening of the store every thing inside the shop disappeared. King Elroy was studying the crime scenes with his best detectives when another piece of information arrived.

“Your Majesty,” The messenger bowed. “A person was seen at both the crime scenes, and he was smiling and laughing at it!”

“Thank you!” The King replied. “This may be a coincidence, but I think it’s a lead!”

“Sir, should we send one of your detectives to investigate?” “Good thinking!” King Elroy congratulated the messenger. “Taptap go and investigate that person.”

“Yes, sir!” Taptap said and left the room. 

Five hours later Taptap still hadn’t reported back to him. King Elroy was getting worried, then the messenger burst through the door. 

“Your majesty.” He huffed. “The person was seen wearing one of the stolen jewels!”

“Arrest him now!” The king shouted.

“But I’m already here!” The person opened the door.

“They call me Taptap!” Taptap said. “I want to rule this kingdom!”

“Never!” King Elroy replied, then he called. “Guards! Come arrest this person!”

The guards ran through the doors cornering him in the middle of the room.

“I will come back!” He shouted then he was taken away by the guards.

Little did King Elroy know that one of his guards was on Taptap's side...
